"Originally
from Havana Cuba, I am now a resident of Copake Falls NY and have been
for more than 20 years. We relocated from the New York metropolitan area
to seek a more serene way of life in an utterly natural setting.
As a family we decided to make the move from Roslyn Harbor to the Berkshires,
leaving my well established floral business behind. Here in the country
I started to paint intensely, finding inspiration in my own gardens, back
roads, mountains, valleys and farmlands throughout the Taconic and Berkshire
region.
I paint exclusively in oils and oil pastels, drawn by the fluidity of
the medium and its radiant colors which are reflected in the light and
movement found in my paintings. I am deeply moved and greatly influenced
by the impressionist and post-impressionist painters who share this love
of color and rhythm that I incorporate into all of my works."
